TOLEDO (TNS) — A Lima man was sentenced Wednesday to 12 years in prison for sexually assaulting a 9-year-old boy.
Robert Whiteside, 32, also was classified by Judge Michael Goulding of Lucas County Common Pleas Court as a sex offender who must register his address with a county sheriff every 90 days for the rest of his life.
Whiteside entered an Alford plea — not admitting guilt, but conceding sufficient evidence existed for a conviction — Nov. 9 to rape and gross sexual imposition for offenses that occurred in November 2014 and April, with the boy.
