Man refuses to come out to police for 5 hours

LIMA — A unidentified man was in custody after barricading himself inside a residence for more than five hours.

According to a spokesman from the Lima Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 900 block of West Wayne Street at 10:15 p.m. Friday to respond to a disturbance. They arrived at 903 1/2 W. Wayne St. to find that the lone occupant had barricaded himself inside the residence and refused to come out to police.

Officers were able to make contact with the man via phone and were able to convince him to leave the building at 3:45 a.m. Saturday. He was apprehended without incident and was being held on unspecified charges.

Lima Police Department Detective Steve Stechschulte was handling the investigation. No other information was released.
