Upper Sandusky woman dies in car-semi crash

HANCOCK COUNTY — A 36-year-old Upper Sandusky woman was killed in a crash with a semi-tractor trailer Thursday evening.

Anne Bacon was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash in Orange Township on U.S. 30 near township Road 51, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The crash was reported at 5:38 p.m. Bacon was driving east on U.S. 30 when she struck the rear of a semi, also traveling east, that had slowed for stopped traffic in a construction zone, the sheriff’s office reported.

The semi was driven by Richard Chavez, 64, of El Paso, Texas. He was not injured, the sheriff’s office reported.

The crash remains under investigation.
