90th birthday: Bob Williams

LIMA — Robert (Bob) Williams is celebrating his 90th birthday with family and friends at a cook-out. A card shower would also be appreciated. Cards may be sent to Bob at 111 Barnsbury Drive; Lima, OH 45804.

Williams was born July 24, 1934 in Delphos to Herman and Ethel Williams. On April 3, 1961, he married Thelma (Aelker) Williams.

He has four children, Denise (Larry) Barnes, Tina (Keith) Hawkins and Bobbie (Mike) Stemen, all of Lima and Cheryl (John) Fontaine of Naperville, Illinios. He also has eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Williams served in the Army on active duty at Ft. Lee, VA and then served in the ROTC. He was a teacher, football coach and vice principal at LCC, West, South and Lima Senior High. He was the previous co-owner of Brothers Four Country Store and Old Barn Out Back. Williams was also an over-50 raquetball champ of Ohio. He is a member of St. Rose/St. John parishes and volunteered at St. Charles and St. Vincent de Paul.

Williams served as city councilman for the 8th Ward in the 1990s. He is an avid fisherman and traveler.
