Democrats love lawfare, and they know just how to make it, Donald Trump style.
The proof is in the recipe. Take the Democratic enclave of Manhattan. Add one hand-picked Democrat judge. Then mix with a sleazy Democrat prosecutor whose entire election campaign focused on convicting an ex-president. Variations of the same dish have been made several times over.
It’s a recipe of retribution that Republicans have rarely had a taste for but should consider even as Trump’s sentencing in the Stormy Daniels hush money case has been pushed back until after the election to Nov. 26. All this by a judge who ruled against Trump repeatedly during the trial and now conveniently wants to avoid giving him any political advantage in his race for the White House. Yet the threat of a prison sentence still looms as possible, especially if Trump is defeated.
The charges against Trump were always based upon the adage of, “Show me the man, and I’ll show you the crime.” Democrats were prepared from the start to make the rules as they went along, even as the Manhattan case is loaded with evidence to overturn his conviction on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records. Yet when your goal is to banish and destroy the opposition candidate ahead of an election, even as the incumbent president had nothing positive to run on, it’s full speed ahead.
Despite the fact that Democrats have crossed a constitutional red line that no major American political party has ever crossed, Republicans now have no choice but to similarly go after Democrat politicians, even presidents, in the future — no holds barred.
Because what’s good for the goose is good for the gander. Any local Republican prosecutor or state attorney general should send the word out that Democratic misdeeds and corruption will no longer be tolerated. Partisan prosecution will run both ways, and Democrats will be held to standards they are not used to for purely political reasons.
The Golden rule says, “Do unto others as they do unto you.” Republicans can ignore this ugly truth; however, Democrats are just getting started down this road. They have no intention of turning back when permanent electoral control is at stake. They are playing for keeps.
Whether it’s Hunter Biden or soon-to-be former President Joe Biden himself, no Democrat should be off-limits. That includes Attorney General Merrick Garland, Nancy Pelosi, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and even Bill and Hillary Clinton. It should also include the lowliest of Democrat office-holders in the hinterlands.
Only this type of political retaliation can truly deter Democrats to cease with the destruction they have unleashed upon our American republic. For the weak-kneed who don’t have the stomach for such a scenario, what is the next viable alternative? To just keep taking it?
Sometimes the threat of larger destruction is the only act capable of preventing even larger and more dangerous destruction, especially when the future of the nation is literally at stake.
Current Republican leadership may not be up to the task, as in the case of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. A group of bold, conservative Republican senators, including vice president nominee JD Vance, recently announced that they will no longer go along to get along.
To this end, they will not support any non-security related funding proposed by the White House or for partisan lawfare, confirm any Biden political or judicial appointees or expedite the passage of any Democrat legislation “not directly relevant to the safety of the American people.”
This is a long overdue development. Ben Franklin said that the type of government the Founders created was “a republic if you can keep it.” Under the Biden/Harris regime, Democrats have systematically dismantled everything that made America great and weaponized our justice system against any and all opposition. This absolute abuse of power has gone on far too long.
It is time to quit throwing our hands up in disgust and fight back if we cherish the system we once knew. And it’s just as defining as the November election. Republicans didn’t ask for this fight, but they should start to even the playing field now.
