Nebraska fired Scott Frost two games into his fifth season as its football coach on Sunday because his teams were much below average at winning games as often as Cornhuskers Nation expects.

A trio of veteran boaters and a pair of Lewistown co-anglers from the Lima area have qualified for the James River Regional bass tournament of Major League Fishing’s (MLF) Phoenix Bass Fishing League (BFL) set for Oct. 20-22 in Richmond, Virginia.

Volleyball

Two weeks ago, Lima Senior ended its three-year winless drought in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference with a victory against Toledo Central Catholic. But since that victory, the Spartans have failed to maintained that momentum and they dropped their fifth consecutive match to Fremont Ross, 25-10, 25-16 and 25-14 in a TRAC clash Thursday.

OTTOVILLE — Miller City’s Ava Rosengarten didn’t start the match.
