OTTAWA — The Ottawa-Glandorf volleyball team has owned Western Buckeye League foe Kenton since the 2007 season, sweeping the Wildcats every match up.

Lima Senior got its first volleyball win of the season and its first Toledo City League win with a 25-6, 25-7, 25-12 win over Toledo Woodward on Wednesday.

SPENCERVILLE — In a rematch of the last two sectional championships, Miller City and Spencerville met to open the boys soccer season Tuesday evening at Spencerville high school.

LIMA — Lima Senior defeated Bowsher 9-4 won its inaugural Toledo City League girls soccer match Tuesday at Spartan Stadium.

Coaches are always watching the progress of their teams from the opening week to the second game and the squads will look to either continue the momentum gained in the opening week or look to rebound from the loss of week one.

SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — It seemed like every time Shawnee had an opportunity around the net, Addison Maxwell (5 feet, 8 inches, Sr.) and Kelly Cooper (5-10, Sr.) were always in the vicinity.

DELPHOS — Medalist Michael Turnwald tied an Ottoville school record with a 3-under-par 32 as the Big Green defeated Wayne Trace 158-171 Monday at Delphos Country Club.

Week 1

VAN WERT — Elida won Saturday’s Cougar Classic girls tennis competition with 31 points. Wauseon and Van Wert tied for second (27 points each) followed by St. Marys (24), Lehman Catholic (15) and Ayersville (11).

LIMA — The Bath Wildkittens and Lima Senior Spartans opened the 2023 high school volleyball season Saturday morning at Lima Senior high school.
