April 25

Christopher Niese, 31, 1026 Woodside Drive, Ottawa, was placed on five years community control for improper handling firearms in a motor vehicle. He must successfully complete all counseling and treatment recommended. Charges of illegal possession of firearm in liquor permit premises, improperly handling of firearms in motor vehicle and using weapons while intoxicated were dismissed.

April 27

Christian G. Moreno, 32, 317 W. Main St., Leipsic, was sentenced to 11 months in the Putnam County Detention facility for violating community control. The violations included attempting to cause harm to a female and failing to complete weekly drug testing. He was given credit for 307 days previously served. He was originally convicted of attempt to commit an offense and criminal damaging.

April 28

Marcy Bibler, Findlay, was granted a divorce from James V. Bibler, Ottawa. They were married June 19, 1976 in Dupont and have no minor children.

April 29

Ryan L. Hefner, Sr., 46, 111 S. Pearl St., Lot 6, Columbus Grove, was sentenced to 225 days in jail for possession of drugs (heroin). He was given credit for 45 days served and he was placed on five years community control. Any evidence seized is to be forfeited to the state of Ohio. He must obtain and maintain employment and successfully complete all counseling and treatment recommended.

Haley S. McGue, 29, 186 Center St., Vaughnsville, was sentenced to nine months in jail for violating community control. The violations included failing to complete drug testing, failing to report to her supervising officer, changing residence without permission and using methamphetamines and marijuana. She was given credit for 63 days served. She was originally convicted of possession of drugs (cocaine).

Putnam County Municipal Court dispositions

April 25

Jefferson S. Mathews, 36, 7845 Hofferbert Road, Elida, pleaded guilty to driving under OVI suspension. Sentence: 180 days jail, 177 days suspended, $250 fine. He was also found in violation of probation. Sentence: three days jail, credit for three days served.

Daryl D. Upshaw, 59, 119 Emerald Lane, Lima, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of second-offense OVI. Sentence: 180 days jail, 170 days suspended, $1,000 fine, $475 suspended, two-year license suspension, with credit for six days jail upon completion of DIP. A charge of improper lane usage was dismissed.

Christian M. Keller, 22, 631 W. Sycamore St., Apt. A13, Columbus Grove, pleaded no contest to fleeing & eluding and was found guilty. Sentence: 30 days jail, suspended, fined $150, and six-month license suspension.

April 27

Charles J. Gillette, 34, 1570 Perry St., Lot 66, Ottawa, pleaded guilty to driving under FRA/non-compliance. Sentence: One day jail, $100 fine. He was also fined $25 for driving upon sidewalk.

April 28

Robert J. Schnippel, 54, 17436 Fairway Drive, Ottawa, pleaded guilty to OVI second offense. Sentence: 180 days jail, 120 days suspended, $1,000 fine, $475 suspended, three-year license suspension and complete a drug/alcohol assessment. Charges of OVI and two lights required were dismissed.
