Anthony Cook (Houston Lamar High School), a 5-star cornerback in the 2018 recruiting class, told 247sports.com that Texas and Ohio State are tied for No. 1 on his list of schools after taking a visit to Texas. He said LSU ranks just behind the leaders.
You might beat Minnesota coach P.J. Fleck on the field but it will be more difficult to beat him in showmanship. The first-year Gophers coach helicoptered in to watch 2019 4-star offensive tackle Quinn Carroll (Edina, Minn.) play in a game. Carroll has an offer from Ohio State.
Ohio State offensive line coach Greg Studrawa watched John Olmstead (Metuchen, N.J.), a 4-star offensive tackle in the 2019 class, play on Saturday afternoon. Then Olmstead went to the Buckeyes’ game at Rutgers on Saturday night. He told 247sports.com he was “very interested” in both those teams.
Four-star linebacker K’Vaughn Pope (Dinwiddie, Va.), a 2018 Ohio State commitment, had nine tackles, four tackles for losses and a sack last week.
Five-star defensive end Brenton Cox (Strockbridge, Va.) a 2018 Ohio State commitment, had two sacks last week.
