BLUFFTON — Eric Webb knew pretty close to what he was looking for when he finally found his 1941 Chevrolet truck.
“My father had one pretty close like it,” Webb said. “He had a 1940 he had bought.”
Webb’s father bought the 1940 truck and slowly refurbished it over time. Webb said that served as his inspiration to purchase his truck.
Much like his father, Webb purchased the truck and began to refurbish it. He said it took about a year and a half to get the vehicle road ready.
“And another year after that to get all of the bugs out,” Webb said.
Webb, 29, who lives in Bluffton, found the truck parked for sale near the grain elevator in Cairo.
The truck has a homemade frame and is a classic “low-rider.” Webb’s truck sits about as low as you can go.
“One time we pulled it into the garage and it set so low it is hard to get over the hump,” Webb said. “We ran into the back of the garage.”
Webb said he enjoys owning a low-rider because “they are truly unique, one of a kind.”
Webb said he has a busy work schedule but he tries to get to car shows as often as he can to show his vehicle..
