Van Wert tops Elida in girls sectional

HICKSVILLE — Erin Morrow had 21 points and Alexa Dunlap scored 14 as Van Wert advanced to Division II sectional championship in girls basketball Wednesday night.

The Cougars (7-16) will next play Defiance at 6:15 p.m. Saturday at Hicksville. Shyah Wheeler had 14 points and Bailee Kuhn scored 11 for Elida (8-15).

Division III

Upper Sandusky 73, Allen East 52

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Allen East was unable to recover from a 25-10 deficit at the end of the first quarter. Carly Clum (22), Kylie Wyss (15) and Aubri Woods (11) all scored in double digits for the Mustangs.

Upper Sandusky will take on Lima Central Catholic for the sectional championship at the same venue at 6:15 p.m. Saturday.

Division IV

Ada 62, Hardin Northern 39

COLDWATER — Tori Wyss had 21 points and Sidney Faine scored 14 for Ada (19-4). Holly Wilson had 12 points and Micheala Curtis scored 11 for Hardin Northern (5-16).

Ada will play Fort Recovery for the sectional championship at the same venue at 8 p.m. Saturday.

Fort Recovery 63, Perry 18

COLDWATER — Tori Lennartz had 18 points and Carley Stone and Kendra Siefring scored 10 each for Fort Recovery. Latrisha Edmonds led Perry with six points.

Kalida 54, Van Buren 24

OTTAWA — Kylie Osterhage had 12 points and Allison Recker scored 10 for Kalida, which will play for the sectional championship at Ottawa-Glandorf against Delphos St. John’s at 8 p.m. Saturday.

Delphos St. John’s 52, McComb 39, OT

OTTAWA — Delphos St. John’s recovered from a 22-15 halftime deficit to move to the sectional title game.

Wayne Trace 68, Continental 26

BRYAN — McKenna Scott had 10 points for Continental (3-20).

Boys basketball

Kenton 56, Upper Scioto Valley 49

KENTON — Colyn Blackford had 23 points and Travis Downing scored eight for Kenton.
