Residents reminded to leave faucet running on frigid nights

LIMA — During Mayor David Berger’s weekly news conference Wednesday, city residents were reminded to take measures to ensure their water pipes would not freeze.

With temperatures expected to drop into the single digits or lower during the overnight hours Thursday as well as several days next week, residents were urged to leave a faucet dripping overnight to allow for a small continuous stream of water running through the pipe, preventing standing water in the pipe from freezing.
