LIMA

Lenten dinner series planned

There will be a soup supper from 5 to 6:30 p.m. March 11, 18, and 25 at New Creation Lutheran Church, 2701 Allentown Road. The suppers will be followed by a 7 p.m. service featuring a parable theme for each week of the Lenten season. For details, call 419-331-3846.

Lunch for seniors Friday

There will be a senior luncheon at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Westside United Methodist Church, 604 Gloria Drive. The meat is provided but everyone is asked to bring a covered dish and their own table service. There will be a program about genealogy. The event is free. For details, call 419-223-2881.

Food pantry open twice a month

The Lima Seventh-Day Adventist Food Pantry is open from 8 a.m. to noon the first and third Sunday of every month at the church, 1976 Spencerville Road. First-time visitors need to bring a photo identification, proof of address and birth certificates of those living in the home. Regulars need to bring their blue Walmart bags. Easter egg hunt scheduled

There will be an Easter egg hunt called “The Big Hunt” starting at 1 p.m. April 4 at Calvary Chapel of Praise, 1601 Rebecca Drive. The event includes the egg hunt, refreshments, a live show and prizes. The egg hunt is open to children ages 12 and up, and refreshments will include hotdogs, chips, cookies and juice. GILBOA

St. Patrick’s Day Supper planned

There will be a corned beef and cabbage supper from 5 to 7 p.m. March 17 at Gilboa United Methodist Church, 102 Franklin St. The meal will also include dessert and drinks, and hot dogs will be available. The cost of the meal is a donation. For details, call 419-943-3556.

COLUMBUS GROVE

Christian Fellowship Meal to be held

There will be a Christian Fellowship meal held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. March 18 in the basement of St. John United Methodist Church, 205 N. High St. The meal will include warm Hawaiian ham and cheese sandwiches, a variety of cold salads, chips and desserts. For details, call 419-659-2380.

Trip to Amish Country forming

There will an overnight Amish Adventure motor coach trip on April 25 and 26. The trip is sponsored by Carpenters for Christ, a mission team from Uniopolis United Methodist and St. Johns United Methodist Churches. The proceeds from the trip will go toward funding their annual mission trip to Cherokee, North Carolina. Cost for the trip is between $160 and $245, depending on room occupancy, and includes overnight accommodations, breakfast and baggage handling at the Wallhouse Hotel, admission to the Amish and Mennonite Heritage Center, cream sticks from Das Dutch Kitchen, dinner at an Amish home, lunch at Chalet in the Valley, admission to David Warther Museum, and guide for both days. Food boxes available for those in need

Food boxes are available for pick up at 11 a.m. March 28 at Grace Mennonite Church, 502 E. Main St. The food boxes provide nine meals for a family of four and are available for those in Pandora-Gilboa schools. Boxes can only be picked up by those who have registered by 5 p.m. March 16 by calling 419-384-3038.
