WAPAKONETA — A Lima man is dead after a head-on collision with another vehicle in Wapakoneta.

The Wapakoneta post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol was dispatched at about 6:50 a.m. Monday to state Route 67 under the Interstate 75 overpass

Patrol officials said the deceased man was at fault as he crossed left of center — for an unknown reason — of state Route 67, traveling westbound and struck the oncoming eastbound vehicle head-on. Jason A. Lashlee Jr., 20, of Lima, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo at the time of the incident. He was not wearing his seatbelt at the time and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Alcohol use was not suspected in the incident, according to a statement from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Tracey A. Regula, 36, of Wapakoneta, was driving a 2009 Ford Flex when she was struck by Lashlee. She was wearing her seatbelt and was taken to Lima Memorial Health System for treatment. Her condition was unavailable late Monday.

The scene was cleared at about 8:30 a.m.

The patrol was assisted by Wapakoneta Fire and EMS.
