Youngstown State’s Heidi Schlegel has been recognized by the Horizon League, College Sports Madness and espnW for her performances last week in two Penguins victories against Milwaukee and Valparaiso.
The Wapakoneta graduate scored 38 points in both games last week while shooting 68.2 percent from the field. She was named the conference player of the week by the Horizon League and College Sports Madness, and College Sports Madness also named her the High-Major Player of the Week. Schlegel was noted for her performance on espnW’s national player-of-the-week announcement.
The Horizon League recognized Schlegel as the conference player of the week for the second consecutive week and for a league-best third time this season.
