Crestview Elementary recognizes ‘Leader in Me’ students

The “Leader in Me” theme for the past month was “Put First Things First.” As a result, these outstanding students were acknowledged for their efforts, including Sydney Dowler, Wren Sheets, Ean Scarlett, Gage Melcher, David Raines and D.J. Yinger.

Sacred Spaces to feature Grammy-nominated singer

The Lima Senior High School Masterworks Ensemble will present “Music for Sacred Spaces” at 7:30 p.m. March 10 at Market Street Presbyterian Church, 1100 W. Market St., Lima. The concert will feature Grammy-nominated lyric tenor Marco Panuccio, as well as soloists from Lima Senior. There will be a freewill offering taken at the door.

Panuccio will also conduct a masterclass with the Lima Senior choirs at 2 p.m. March 10 in the school choir room.

Crestview sets kindergarten registration

Parents or guardians in Crestview schools with a child 5 years of age on or before Aug. 1 may register the child for kindergarten for the 2015-2016 school year. Parents or guardians requesting open enrollment for their kindergarten student to Crestview schools should also register at this time.

Registration will be held 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 16 to 20 in the elementary office. Enter at door No. 9. Appointments are not needed.

Shawnee accepting students

Shawnee Elmwood Primary Schools is accepting applications for 2015-16 kindergarten registration March 16 to 20. Applications are available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m throughout the week.

School begins open enrollment

Applications for open enrollment to Waynesfield-Goshen schools are available at the Board of Education Office, 500 N. Westminster St., by calling 419-568-9101 or online at wgschools.org. Once completed, applications should be submitted to the superintendent’s office.

Annual coupon drive begins

Lima Central Catholic began its annual Taste Tour Restaurant Coupon Drive March 2. Books cost $15 with more than 130 coupons for 55 different restaurants in the Lima area. Students will be selling the books, which will also be available at the school business office.

Lima Elk’s Lodge student of the month announced

Lima Elk’s Lodge January students of the month are Logan Roebke and Nicole Recker.
