Ada holds back Columbus Grove

ADA — Ada withstood a 21-17 fourth-quarter run by Columbus Grove to improve to 18-4 on the season with a 62-58 girls basketball victory Thursday night.

Tori Wyss had 22 points and Alexis Amburgey and Lindsey Walden scored 13 each for Ada. Jade Clement (22), Lynea Diller (13), Paige Bellman (12) and Kyrah Yinger (10) all scored in double digits for Columbus Grove (15-6).

LCC 77, Spencerville 47

SPENCERVILLE — Madison Stolly (21), Kayla Verhoff (18), Sam Koenig (11), Sydney Zerante (11) and Natalie Snider (10) all scored in double digits for Lima Central Catholic. Jacey Grigsby had 16 points and Katie Merriman scored nine for Spencerville.

Kalida 47, Continental 30

KALIDA — Kalida (17-5) finished its Putnam County League schedule 7-0. Jackie Gardner had 15 points and Kylie Osterhage scored 14 for Kalida. Jade Zachrich led Continental (3-18, 1-6 PCL) with eight points.

ST. MARYS — Ottawa-Glandorf (20-2) finished its Western Buckeye League schedule at 8-1.

Delphos St. John’s 39

Alyse Clune had 18 points and Debbie Paul scored 13 for New Bremen. Rachel Pohlman had 15 points and Lexie Hays scored seven for Delphos St. John’s.

Crestview 53, Bluffton 34

BLUFFTON — Crestview ranked No. 7 in Division IV, remained unbeaten as Emily Bauer had 17 points and Lindsey Motycka scored 12 for the Knights. Kearstin Barry had 14 points and Andie Schmutz scored eight for Bluffton.

Wapakoneta 48, Van Wert 28

WAPAKONETA — Carly Buzzard had 17 points and Riley Culver scored eight for Wapak. Erin Morrow led Van Wert with 14 points.

Allen East 47, Delphos Jefferson 42

HARROD — Allen East outscored Delphos Jefferson 20-15 in the fourth quarter for the victory. Carly Clum (16), Kylie Wyss (15) and Aubri Woods (12) all scored in double digits for the host Mustangs. Macy Wallace led Delphos Jefferson with nine points.

Marion Local 69, Parkway 45

ROCKFORD — Marion Local’s Allie Thobe surpassed 1,000-career points as the visiting Flyers clinched the Midwest Athletic Conference title outright. Thobe finished with 36 points and teammate Emily Mescher had 18. Lydia Heindel had 10 points and Kayla Walls scored nine for Parkway.

Fort Recovery 58, St. Henry 35

FORT RECOVERY — Kendra Siefring and Grace Thien had 11 points each for Fort Recovery. Ellie Stammen had 12 points and Olivia Stahl scored nine for St. Henry.

New Knoxville 70, Coldwater 65

COLDWATER — Meg Reineke (28), Kenzie Schroer (22) and Kalyn Schroer (12) all scored in double digits for New Knoxville. Maura Hoying and Hannah Bruns had 12 points each and Sarah Kanney scored 11 for Coldwater.

Lincolnview 62, Paulding 43

PAULDING — Julia Thatcher (20), Hannah McCleery (12) and Ashton Bowersock (11) all scored in double digits for Lincolnview. Faith Vogel had 11 points and Samantha Meggison scored nine for Paulding.

ARCADIA — Holly Wilson had 14 points to lead Hardin Northern.

Men’s swimming

AKRON — Ohio Northern swept both relays and built a 64-point lead on Day 1 of the three-day 2015 Ohio Athletic Conference Swimming & Diving Championships Thursday at the University of Akron’s Ocasek Natatorium.

Through five of 20 events, the Polar Bears have 227.5 points, Mount Union is second with 163.5 points and Wilmington is third with 140.5 points.

Women’s swimming

AKRON — Ohio Northern set a conference record in the 200 free relay (1:35.80) on Day 1 of the three-day 2015 Women’s Ohio Athletic Conference Swimming & Diving Championships Thursday at the University of Akron’s Ocasek Natatorium.

After five of 20 events, Mount Union leads the team standings with 201 points, John Carroll is second with 171 points and Ohio Northern s third with 167 points.
