CRIDERSVILLE — “Pickups built to last longer,” touted the Ford advertising executives for the 1965 Ford F-100 series pickup. The 1965 pickup trucks were given an all-new chassis. This included a twin I bean suspension, built to last longer with two front axles to share the harshest abuse. The fourth generation Ford F-Series line was sleeker and wider than the previous F-Series models of the 1950’s. The 1965 Ford F100 Pickups offered three new engine options which included the economical 240 cubic inch six cylinder as standard or two options 300 cubic inch BixSix or 352 cubic inch V-8. These were the most powerful engines to date ever offered in the Ford Pickup truck.

Frank Spinnati, of Cridersville, brought his 1965 Ford F-100 Pickup to The Lima News’ Real Wheels Cruise-In. He has owned this truck for five years. Spinnati purchased the truck in pieces, obviously with a vision of the beauty she would become. He says his favorite memory is driving it for the first time.
