Sarah and Kevin Mason

LIMA — Sarah Louise Norman and Kevin Alan Mason were married Dec. 31, 2014, at Rosalie Plantation Sugar Mill in Alexandria, LA by the Rev. Donnie Wilkinson.

Parents of the bride are Karen Norman, of Alexandria and the late Dr. Thomas Norman. She is the granddaughter of Willena Normand and the late Jimmie Normand, of Alexandria and Hope Norman and the late Dr. Tom Norman, also of Alexandria.

Parents of the groom are Lori Stephenson and Todd Mason, both of Lima. He is the grandson of Beverly Thomas and the late Jerry Thomas, of Lima and Robert and Maudora Mason, also of Lima.

The bride and groom met in Santa Barbara, CA while participating in El Presidio de Santa Barbara Archaeological Field School during the summer of 2009.

The bride was escorted down the aisle by her mother, Karen Norman.

She wore a vintage dress of silk satin from the 1950s, accentuated with antique lace applique and delicate beading. She wore a head wreath of white spray roses.

Maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Margaret Norman and matron of honor was the bride’s sister, Emily Murphy. Bridesmaids included Colbye Prim, of Washington, D.C., Erin Kinchen, of New Orleans and the groom’s sister, Kelsey Mason, of Columbus.

Best man was Michael Maurer, of Columbus. The groomsmen were Michael Battig, of Columbus, Charles Matthew Degen, of Akron, the groom’s brother, Kyle Mason, of Naples, FL and Michael Murphy of Alexandria.

The bride is a graduate of Hendrix College with a B.A. in anthropology. She received her M.A. in preservation studies from Tulane University.

The groom is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a B.A. in anthropology, specializing in archaeology. He attended Louisiana Technical College at Delgado in New Orleans where he received his training as an HVAC technician.

Following a honeymoon trip to the Florida Keys, the couple will reside in Alexandria, LA.
