MASSILLON — Massillon High School has hired Nate Moore, who led Cincinnati LaSalle to the Division II state championship, as its football coach.

The 33-year-old Moore began his head coaching career at Minster, where his teams were 25-13 in three years and went to the playoffs from 2010-2012. He was 17-8 in two seasons at LaSalle, including 14-1 this season.

Moore is a 2003 University of Dayton graduate and graduated from Mason High School in 1999.

He follows Jason Hall, who resigned under pressure after having a 57-25 record with six playoff appearances in seven seasons. His final game was a 56-7 loss to Perrysburg in the first round of the playoffs.

Massillon has won 22 state championships in the polls but has not won a state title on the field since the playoffs began in Ohio in 1972.
