Bluffton board meeting moved

The Bluffton Exempted Village Board of Education rescheduled its January board meeting, according to a press release.

Originally set for Thursday, it’s now scheduled to take place at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 15 at Bluffton Elementary Media Center.

The district’s Superintendent Greg Denecker confirmed the change, saying it was a result of a conflict in schedules.

Grant deadline approaches

The deadline to apply for grants up to $50,000 from the Ohio Environmental Education Fund is Jan. 15.

The grants are available to further educate students, citizens and the overall community about environmental problems and solutions.

Ohio Environmental Protection Agency is targeting areas that have identified a need for education based on recent environmental impacts in the state to encourage practices and innovations that improve restoration and management efforts.

Robotics club hosting challenge

Van Wert High School’s Robotics Club will host the First Tech Challenge Jan. 16 and 17.

Consisting of robot and software inspections from 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 16, the tournament will begin Jan. 17 at Van Wert High School. Doors open at 7:30 a.m. and the event is free and open to the public.
