LIMA — The Allen County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard had a large, important ceremony Monday.
The honor guard presented the colors at the swearing in ceremony for the Ohio Senate.
According to Allen County Sheriff Sam Crish, the department received a call extending the invitation to the honor guard to present the colors from president of the Senate, Keith Faber, R-Celina.
“It certainly makes me feel good as a sheriff,” Crish said, as he was a former member of the honor guard as well.
Crish said it was an honor to get the call.
The honor guard, comprised of five men and women deputies and corrections officers, is active within the county and performs at various ceremonies, however this is the first time of something of this caliber, Crish said.
“It shows that they do a good job and that they represent the Sheriff’s Office well,” Crish said.
