Child advocates sworn in

LIMA — Crime Victim Services added 15 court-appointed special advocates to its army of volunteers to look out for the interests of children in court.

The 15 volunteers were sworn in Monday during a ceremony. They will act as victim advocates for children in court and make sure the interests of the child in a case is represented.

Volunteers also can act as guardians ad litem for children in the juvenile court system due to dependency, neglect or abuse. The volunteers also complete reports for the court.

Those who were sworn in Monday were: Joyce Barga, Tricia Boss, Kathy Boyer, Barbara Courtney, Andrea Dafler, Jene’ Frueh, Jessica Gogley, Mary Hofmann, Candace Houdek, Keith Kroehler, Debra Nelson, Angie Plummer, Debra Thomas, Erin Turgon, Kaye Winerman.
