March 19

Jacob Vorst, Columbus Grove, and Amanda Vorst, Columbus Grove, were granted a dissolution of marriage. They were married Aug. 19, 2011, in Kalida, and have one child.

March 20

Joshua L. Groves, 38, 630 Hazel Ave., Lima, pleaded guilty to trafficking in drugs. He faces up to 18 months in prison, $5,000 in fines and six-months to five-year license suspension. Bond was continued while a pre-sentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 11:15 a.m. April 30.

Robert L. Howard III, 32, 236 N. Hall St., Ottawa, pleaded guilty to trafficking in drugs and trafficking in drugs hydrocodone. He faces up to 18 months in prison, $5,000 in fines, and six months-to five-year license suspension on both counts. Bond was continued while a pre-sentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 1 p.m. April 30. He was originally charged with three counts trafficking in marijuana, trafficking in drugs and permitting drug abuse.

Bryan L. Elam, 42, 314 W. Fourth St., Delphos, pleaded guilty to theft of a credit card. He faces up to 12 months in prison and $2,500 in fines. Bond was continued while a pre-investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 1:30 p.m. April 30.

Carrie L. Flores, Columbus Grove, was granted a divorce from Marcos L. Flores, North Central Correctional Institution. They were married May 31, 2008 in Pigeonforge, Tennessee, and have one child.

March 23

Kevin A. Hocking, 39, 200 Vanbuskirk St., Miller City, pleaded guilty to rape and gross sexual imposition. He faces up to life in prison and $30,000 in fines. Bond was revoked while a pre-sentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 10:30 a.m. April 20. A charge of disseminating materials harmful to juveniles was dismissed.

David M. Ranes, 53, Putnam County Jail, was sentenced to 11 years in prison for engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity; eight years in prison for illegal manufacture of methamphetamines; and 36 months for illegal manufacture of methamphetamines. The judge imposed the mandatory term allowed and ordered the sentence to be served consecutively for a total of 22 years. Ranes was found guilty of the charges by a jury following a three-day trial last month. He was given credit for 115 days served and his license was suspended for five years.

Steven L. Brown, 46, 991468 Road 20, Bryan, was sentenced to three years in prison for illegal conveyance of prohibited items onto grounds of a detention facility. He was given credit for 111 days served and the sentence was ordered concurrent to a Paulding County case.

John W. Barnhart, Jr., 24, 403 W. Cedar St., Dupont, was sentenced to five years in prison for illegal manufacture of methamphetamines and 12 months in prison for possession of drugs. The sentence was ordered to be served concurrent and he was given credit for 128 days served. His license was suspended for five years. Charges of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity and illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs were dismissed.

Nicholas A. Croy, 24, 18281 Road I-17, Cloverdale, was sentenced to three years in prison for illegal manufacture of methamphetamines and 12 months in prison for possession of drugs. The sentence was ordered to be served concurrent and he was given credit for 156 days served. His license was suspended for five years. Charges of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity and illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs were dismissed.

George A. Boecker, II, 25, 24458 Road J, Cloverdale, was sentenced to three years in prison for illegal manufacture of methamphetamines and 12 months in prison for possession of drugs. The sentence was ordered to be served concurrent and he was given credit for 119 days served. His license was suspended for five years. Charges of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity and illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs were dismissed.

March 24

Anthony N. Hutchison, 32, 2726 Reservoir Road, Lima, was sentenced to 70 days in jail for violating the terms of supervision. The violation included changing his residence on Oct. 9, 2014 without permission of his supervising officer. He was originally convicted of receiving stolen property and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

John J. Evans, 41, 57 Lincolnshire Road, Columbus, was sentenced to 10 days jail for failure to pay child support. He was found to be in total arrears in the amount of $15,764.15 as of Feb. 28, 2015. The sentence was suspended provided he remain current in his payments and seek work.

March 19

Terry L. Nuveman, 46, 8736 Road I-7, Ottawa, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of criminal menacing. Sentence: 30 days jail, 29 days jail suspended, $150 fine, complete assessment at Pathways Counseling Center and not be present at the victim’s residence.

Michael D. Miehls, 31, 410 W. Sycamore St., Columbus Grove, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of disorderly conduct. Sentence: $150 fine.

Delete E. Salinas, 19, 105 N. Pearl St., Pandora, pleaded guilty to fictitious plates. Sentence: $100 fine.

March 24

Ethan C. Robey, 22, 12467 Road 11, Ottawa, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of second-offense reckless operation. Sentence: 30 days jail, 27 days suspended, $250 fine, with credit for three days jail upon completion of DIP. A charge of two lights required was dismissed.

March 26

Brandon Adkins, 19, 23288 county Road 110, Oakwood, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of driving without a valid license. Sentence: $150 fine.

Bryant Adkins, 24, 21094 county Road 72, Oakwood, pleaded guilty to first-offense OVI. Six points, 180 days jail, 174 days jail suspended, $750 fine, $375 suspended, and one-year license suspension, with credit for three days jail upon completion of DIP.
