LIMA — It will be a bovine bonanza this weekend as the Wooster-based Ohio Holstein Association will be holding its 95th Convention and Annual Meeting today and Saturday in Wapakoneta and Lima.

The convention will begin with a sale starting at 11 a.m. today at the Quietcove Holstein Farm on Freyburg East Road southeast of Wapakoneta.

“I think we’ve got around 85 head to sell, and Quietcove will also have an e-tag sale, where people can look at their cattle in an online auction,” Ohio Holstein Association office assistant Diana Miley said. “They’ll also do a dairy cattle judging contest, and that’s open to junior members or adults.”

The association’s annual meeting will begin Saturday at Lima’s Howard Johnson Inn with a full schedule. Included in the agenda will be election of officers, selection of delegates to the national body’s convention in June and awards for the year’s best show cattle.

“They will discuss any business that needs the attention of the membership,” Miley said. “They’ll discuss upcoming sales as well as past sales and how the association is doing.”
