LIMA — The Allen County Dog Warden’s Office has received a $2,000 grant from the Ohio PET Fund, which is generated through sales of the state’s “Pet Friendly” custom license plates.

Dog warden Julie Shellhammer said that the funds would be used to spay and neuter dogs held by the warden. Last year, 86 dogs were spayed and neutered because of PET funds.

Low-income families may be able to receive assistance in spaying or neutering their dogs through this grant. For more information, contact the dog warden’s office at 419-223-8528.
