LIMA — The Allen County Cattlemen’s Association will hold its annual banquet Feb. 22 with the chance for high school seniors and college students to apply for $500 in scholarships.

The banquet is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Eagles at 1600 E. Fifth St., in Delphos. The association’s annual meeting will be held at 5 p.m., said Joe Sanders of the Cattlemen Association.

The event is open to the public. Reservations can be made by calling the Allen County Fairgrounds at 419-228-7141 or through a cattlemen director. The cost is $8 per person, Sanders said.

Scholarship applications are due by Feb. 14. Any high school senior or college student is eligible to apply as long as that person has showed cattle or participated in beef production at the Allen County Fair. The application can be picked up at the fairgrounds, Sanders said.
