LIMA — After a fifth-place finish in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference, “the University of Northwestern Ohio has decided to make a change on the women’s basketball coaching staff,” according to a school news release.

“Head Coach Kyle Menchhofer and UNOH parted ways on Wednesday, with the University beginning a search for Menchhofer’s replacement immediately,” the release said.

“We appreciate all that Coach Menchhofer has done for our women’s basketball program during his time here,” Athletic Director Chris Adams said. “We will begin a search immediately to find our new head women’s basketball coach.”

Menchhofer took over the program on an interim basis Nov. 19, 2010, becoming the Racers’ second head coach in program history. The Racers went 13-13 record the remainder of the 2010-11 season, and on March 30, 2011, he had the word interim removed from his title.

The Racers went 17-14, 11-20 and 17-14 in Menchhofer’s next three season. This past season, UNOH went 16-15 overall and 14-8 in the WHAC, losing 71-42 to Cornerstone University in the league tournament quarterfinals. In his nearly five seasons in charge, Menchhofer went 74-76.
