Elida knocks off Kenton in WBL girls hoops

KENTON — Elida broke open Thursday night’s Western Buckeye League game by outscoring Kenton 17-2 in the third quarter on its way to a 63-45 triumph.

Shyah Wheeler (18), Sabrina Kline (13) and Hope Carter (11) all scored in double digits for Elida. Jenna Moore led Kenton with 11 points.

LCC 62, Lincolnview 52

VAN WERT — Lima Central Catholic used an 24-15 third quarter to outdistance itself from Lincolnview.

Madison Stolly (21), Kayla Verhoff (16) and Natalie Snider (13) all scored in double digits for LCC. Ashton Bowersock had 20 points and Julia Thatcher scored 16 for Lincolnview.

Delphos St. John’s 39

DELPHOS — A 14-9 third quarter advantage proved to be the difference for the top-ranked team in Division IV. Emily Mescher had 14 points and Cadence Thobe scored 10 for Marion Local. Lexie Hays had 17 points and Sydney Fischbach scored eight for Delphos St. John’s, which owned a 17-16 halftime edge.

WAYNESFIELD — Kiley Valenti had 11 points for the host Tigers while Sidney Richardson had six points for the Golden Gophers.

LIMA — Morgan Callahan had 13 points and Lynnea Clay scored seven for Temple Christian.

ROCKFORD — Meg Reineke (27), Kenzie Schroer (14) and Kalyn Schroer (10) all scored in double digits for New Knoxville. Lydia Heindel had 13 points for Parkway.
