Delphos St. John’s moves to 7-1 in boys hoops

PAULDING — The Delphos St. John’s boys basketball team moved to 7-1 on the season with a 63-40 victory over Paulding on Tuesday night.

Andy Grothouse (21), Alex Odenweller (18) and Evan Hays (10) all scored in double digits for the visiting Blue Jays. Corbin Edwards had 15 points and Treston Gonzales scored 12 for Paulding.

Coldwater 60, Kenton 49

COLDWATER — Aaron Harlmert and Andy Brunet had 18 points each for the host Cavaliers. Austin Phillips had 20 points and Colyn Blackford scored 16 for Kenton.

Ottoville 72, Tinora 51

OTTOVILLE — Beandt Landin had 43 points and Kyle Bendele scored 12 for Ottoville.

Ada 59, Ft. Jennings 58

FORT JENNINGS — Owen Conley hit a 3 pointer with 0.4 of a second left for the visiting Bulldogs. Brayden Sautter (14), Grant McBride (14) and Blake Willeke (14) all scored in double digits for Ada. Austin Kehres and Nick Von Sossan each had 14 points for Fort Jennings.

PERRY TOWNSHIP — Alanna Sanks led the host Commodores with 11 points.

New Bremen 43, Fairlawn 33

SIDNEY — Paige Jones had 13 points and Debbie Paul scored 11 for New Bremen.

Liberty-Benton 44, Wapakoneta 34

WAPAKONETA — Carly Buzzard led Wapak with 10 points.

Marion Local

girls No. 1

The Marion Local girls basketball team nine of 15 first-place votes in the Associated Press poll released Tuesday. The Flyers had a total of 123 points in the Division IV rankings followed by Berlin Hiland with 110. Leipsic was tied with Greenwich South Central for 10th with 32 points each.

Start time

The start time for the Crestview junior varsity girls’ basketball game against Continental on Monday will now be 5:30 pm due to Ohio State playing in the national championship game that night. The JV game will also only consist of two quarters due to Continental having to play girls both JV and varsity. The varsity game will start at approximately 6:20 pm.

The Fort Recovery boys JV and varsity basketball games at Arcanum have been postponed due to the weather until Tuesday. The Upper Scioto Valley at New Knoxville girls junior varsity and varsity basketball games has been postponed until noon Feb. 7.
