Bath, Wapak fall in wrestling regional finals

Bath and Wapakoneta were eliminated in wrestling dual team tournament regional finals Wednesday.

In Haviland, Bath won its Division III Region 24 semifinal match against host school Wayne Trace 46-36 before losing in the final to Mohawk 50-18. Kyle Lhamon recorded two pin victories for Bath at 220 pounds. Mohawk advanced to the final by defeating Carey 63-18.

In St. Paris, Wapak advanced to the final in Region II Region 16 by defeating Indian Lake 45-30. Wapak then lost in the final to host school Graham Local 68-9. Wapak’s Tyler Copeland (138) and Landon Hall (182) each won both their matches. Graham Local advanced from the semifinals by defeating Tippecanoe 68-9.

Mohawk and Graham Local will next compete in the state quarterfinals Feb. 14 at The Ohio State University in Columbus.

Boys basketball

Wayne-Trace 68, Continental 41

CONTINENTAL — Derek Troyer had 12 points and Gabe Williams scored 11 for Continental on Tuesday.

Girls basketball

Miller City 66, Paulding 39

MILLER CITY — Tiffany Welty had 18 points and Amanda Simon scored 15 for Miller City. Suzanne Rienhart had 15 points and Faith Vogel scored 10 for Paulding on Tuesday.

Parkway 49, Mississinawa Valley 43

UNION CITY — Sarah Gehron, Terra Walls and Kayla Walls had 10 points each for Parkway.

Upper Scioto Valley 56, Ada 36

MCGUFFEY — Breann Mullins (18), Shelby Spradlin (14) and Emily Patton (11) all scored in double digits for USV. Ada’s Lindsey Walden and Tori Wyss had 10 points each.

Marion Local 49, Fort Loramie 42

FORT LORAMIE — Cadence Jacobs had 21 points and Emily Mescher scored 11 for Marion Local, ranked No. 1 in Division IV against eighth-ranked Fort Loramie.
