Old buildings worth preserving

We find, to our embarrassment, that Lima will not support funding for the buildings that should be preserved.

When we look around to surrounding towns, efforts are made to preserve buildings that have meant history. In most cases, these communities are almost always smaller than Lima.

The growth in downtown Lima is encouraging, so would it not make good business sense to continue that support?

We have volunteered for many years at Pickle’s Blues Extravaganza, and have witnessed the coming together of all different people to enjoy an activity — music — that unites, not divides.

We sincerely, hope that Lima will continue to try to restore downtown and find monies to preserve buildings that are not only useful but our heritage.
