The Gun Show is here! But there is good news: Attendance is dwindling
During the last show several police chiefs and a prosecuting attorney were quoted mouthing the party line of the National Rifle Association. I find it difficult to understand why a police officer who has to patrol the sometimes dangerous streets would oppose regulation of armor piercing ammunition. But I suppose if one has attended these shows for years, “They’re coming to get your guns” line of the NRA would eventually penetrate. Tell the same lie over and over again and soon people will believe it.
How many more massacres must we endure to get some reasonable control of guns and ammunition. Our forefathers believed in the Second Amendment, but they also were dealing with front-end loaded muskets and had no concept of what problems modern arms and ammunition would bring. But I suppose boys must have their toys and what if a few more grieving families must pay the price.
