LIMA — A suspicious house fire claimed a vacant Lima home Tuesday.

The Lima Fire Department said the call came in just after 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at 235 S. Union St., Lima.

The home sustained $6,000 in damages and was considered a total loss. The home is owned by Richard Rigali and is valued at $7,200, according to the Allen County Auditor’s website.

The fire started in the first floor bathroom and spread up to the second floor attic area.

The fire was considered suspicious and was being investigated, Fire Department officials said Wednesday.

There were no injuries, and no damage was sustained by neighboring homes.

When officials responded, fire was seen in the attic. Crews remained on scene until just before 2 p.m.
