Black Lace Hair Salon to move

LIMA — With Rhodes State College moving in, Black Lace Hair Salon is moving out of Town Square.

Jesse Lowe II, 3rd Ward Lima city councilman and owner of the salon, has bought a building at 768 N. Main St. in Lima and is moving and expanding the salon.

“It’s just a win-win for everybody that comes aboard,” Lowe said.

Lowe bought the building in late November for $63,000 from Don and Linda Bruns, according to the Allen County Recorder’s website.

The salon is currently located at 6 Town Square, where it opened in 2013, according to a previous Lima News article. With the move, comes an expansion, as the new location is triple the size of the current location, Lowe said.

Lowe is planning to hire several new people, he’s anticipating needing six new stylists, a nail tech and a receptionist.

The salon is slated to reopen in the new space in May, but the salon will never be closed, as it will be a “very smooth transition,” Lowe said, with the old location closing its doors on a Saturday and the salon opening in the new location on Monday morning, for example.

There are six spaces in the new building, which is still in Lowe’s ward, one will be an accounting office, another will host Uniquely Gifted, which does gift balloons and ballon sculptures, and there are three more spaces open for rental.
