First Federal Bank has earned Small Business Administration’s preferred lender status. This title is awarded to institutions that demonstrate a proficiency in processing and servicing small business administration guaranteed loans.

PROMOTIONS
UNOH promotes Fitzpatrick, Clark, Ricker
The University of Northwestern Ohio has promoted Tim Fitzpatrick to the position of dean of the colleges of business, health professions and occupational professions; Lisa Clark to dean of online programs and Matt Ricker to the position of division head of the automotive technology supervision 4-year degree program.
Fitzpatrick has worked at the university since 2012 and formerly served as the associate dean in the colleges of business, occupational professions and health professions. He received his baccalaureate degree from Capital University and his master’s degree in education from Bowling Green State University. He resides in Fort Jennings with his wife, Erin, and two children, Reilly and Ryan.
Lisa Clark will be responsible for curriculum, staffing and student issues within the online programs offered at UNOH. She earned her bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University and her master’s degree from Union Institute and University/Vermont College and has an advanced business degree at Capella University. Clark has taught general education courses, served as facilitator for the information technology, office technology and medical assisting departments, and most recently occupied the position of assistant dean in the colleges of business, health professions and occupational professions.
Matt Ricker joined the university in 2005 and formerly served as an instructor int he HVAC/R and transportation AC courses. His new responsibilities will include promoting the ATS program and overseeing development of traditional and online courses within the program. He obtained his associates degree in HVAC/R technology in 2009, followed by his bachelor of specialized studies degree in 2011, and is in the process of completing his MBA degree, all at UNOH. He resides in Wapakoneta with his wife and daughter.
Central Insurance promotes Faurote
Ben Faurote has been promoted to assistant vice president of human resources at Central Insurance Companies.
He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Ohio Northern University School of Law. He has been employed by Central for five years as a claim attorney.
Faurote is president of the North Adams Community School Board, an advisory member of the city of Decatur’s redevelopment commission, a member of the City of Decatur’s long-term advisory committee and a member of the connect to careers inc. board of directors.
He and his wife, Catherine, have three children.
NEW HIRES
Midwest Electric hires Johns
Joel Johns will take on the role of operations clerk at Midwest Electric. He had worked for the city of St. Marys for 13 years prior to coming to Midwest Electric.
Johns has an associate degree from Wright State University and Rhodes State College in business/administration and also engineering technologies.
He and his family reside in St. Marys.

Rieman selected as partner
Jeff Rieman has been selected as a new partner in the firm of Schroeder & Co., CPA’s, LLC, in Ottawa.
Rieman has been a member of the firm for 15 years and became partner Jan. 1.
He is a member of the Ohio Society of CPA’s and the American Institute of CPA’s, as well as the Ottawa-Glandorf Rotary Club, Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce, Putnam County Developmental Disabilities Residential Services Board and New Cleveland/Holy Family Catholic Church.
Rieman is a graduate of Miller City High School and received his degree with a major in accounting from The Ohio State University.
He resides in the Ottawa area with his wife, Jenny, and their three children.

Doerter re-elected to represent farmers
Thomas Doerter was re-elected to represent farmers from Monroe, Sugar Creek, Marion and Monroe as their Allen County committee representative. This is Doerter’s third consecutive three-year term.
Allen County Committee members and their representative townships are:
Wendell Stahler representing Shawnee, Amanda, Perry and Auglaize townships.
Richard Bixel, representing Richland, Jackson, Bath and American townships.
Thomas Doerter, representing Monroe, Sugar Creek, Marion and Monroe townships.
