Findlay boy, 14, wields knife

FINDLAY — Two were in custody after wielding a knife in two separate robberies.

An armed robbery was reported at 9:57 p.m. Wednesday at Kroger, 1996 Tiffin Ave., and Findlay Police Department officers responded. A male with a knife cut the victim and stole the victim’s cellphone, according to a news release.

The victim was treated at the scene by Hanco EMS.

While police started searching for the suspect, another armed robbery was reported at 10:36 p.m. Wednesday at Circle K, 1220 Tiffin Ave.

The victim in the second crime said two males tried to steal his car while showing a knife. They hit him and ran away without the car. The victim was not hurt.

A 14-year-old boy from Findlay was caught in connection with both robberies. He had not been charged as of Thursday afternoon.

Joe Vera III, 21, of Arcadia, was with the boy when he was arrested. Vera was charged with aggravated robbery for the Circle K incident. He was being held at the Hancock County Jail.
