DELPHOS — A man cut off his court-sanctioned ankle bracelet when he wanted to leave his home Friday.

James Reynolds, 35, of Delphos, cut off the tracking device and left his home with his brother around 1:30 a.m. and returned around 4 a.m. wanting more money from his wife, Delphos Police Chief Kyle Fittro said.

Reynolds then left the house again and returned for a second time at around 8 a.m. and began pounding on the door of his residence, again, wanting more money, however his wife did not let him in.

His wife called the Delphos Police Department to report the verbal altercation, however Reynolds left the residence when his wife asked him to, Fittro said. Officials were unsure of the wife’s name.

Van Wert County Sheriff’s Office arrested Reynolds on Converse Roselm Road in Van Wert on Saturday, Van Wert County Sheriff Thomas Riggenbach said.

Reynolds was awaiting trial for charges related to a robberyt at the Rambler’s Roost Truck Stop in Middle Point in June.

Reynolds’ next hearing will be at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 29 in the Van Wert County Courthouse.

It was unclear if he would face charges for removing his ankle bracelet.
