LIMA — Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches will soon open a restaurant at 715 N. Cable Road.

The location was purchased by JJV Investment 1, LLC, for $300,000 from Metropolitan Company, according to the Allen County auditor’s website.

It was formerly a Friendly’s restaurant. In more recent history, it was home to Ambrosia Pancake House and Family Restaurant, but that business suffered a fire in 2007. The lot is now empty, except for paved parking.

A corporate representative for Jimmy John’s could not reveal an opening date but advised people to watch for it to open its doors.

The Ohio Secretary of State’s website lists Phillip Lawson as the agent or registrant of JJV Investment 1. Lawson also owns the two Jimmy John’s locations in Findlay, one on Tiffin Avenue and another on Trenton Avenue

Jimmy John’s serves sub sandwiches on white buns and club sandwiches on bread.
