WAPAKONETA — Mr. and Mrs. Robert Herman, of Wapakoneta, will celebrate 70 years of marriage March 17, 2015. A family celebration took place yesterday at the General Denver Restaurant in Wilmington, where Bob and Margene had their reception dinner.
Herman and the former Margene McDermott were married March 17, 1945, at the home of the bride, in Clinton Co., OH.
They are the parents of five children, Pam Murphy, of Cincinnati; Gary Herman, of St. Marys; John Herman, of Jensen Beach, FL; Michele Herman, of Lima and George Herman, of Wapakoneta. They have seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Herman is a graduate of Toledo University and the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine. He is retired from family practice medicine, in Wapakoneta. His wife is a graduate of Christ Hospital School of Nursing.
