FINDLAY — The Findlay Police Department engaged in a brief high-speed chase Thursday morning that led to an arrest.

At 8:17 a.m., someone at the Speedway gas station on South Main Street attempted to drive a 2005 Hyundai Tiburon into the front doors. The driver then fled east on Sixth Street at a high rate of speed, losing control and almost striking a business east of Sherry Street. He then went south on Sherry before coming to rest in a yard in the 1900 block. The chase lasted one minute and covered 0.2 miles.

The driver, John T. Stallard II, 20, of Marion, was arrested for failure to comply, fleeing and eluding, operating a vehicle while impaired, driving under suspension and reckless operation, all first-degree misdemeanors. He was incarcerated at the Hancock County Justice Center pending bond.
