Driver sought after hitting horse barn near Continental

CONTINENTAL — The Putnam County Sheriff’s office is searching for an individual who struck a barn with his or her vehicle and likely has injuries as a result.

Officials believe the incident happened before 1:30 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of state Route 15 and Road G, near Continental, said Deputy Randy Weller with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. The barn is owned by Nancy Warnimont.

The vehicle is believed to be silver of grey in color, as officials found paint residue at the scene.

Though there were no witnesses to the incident, someone called the sheriff’s office at approximately 1:30 a.m. to report the damage, Weller said.

No horses were harmed in the incident.
