Letter: Brown helped workers during Lima Refinery strike

The Lima Refinery went on strike in 2012. In the first week of the strike, I received a call from Sen. Sherrod Brown’s office. His office sent two representatives to Lima to talk with me on the issues the union had and what help he could provide.

On a Saturday during the strike, Sen. Brown came to our hall in Lima. His support for our steelworkers was genuine.

When our international president called Husky Corp., they would not take his call. Sen. Brown called Husky for the union to see if Husky would change its course.

I am proud to share this story because Sen. Brown is a friend to working people.
