Bath Fire responds to mobile home fire

BATH TOWNSHIP — A mobile home fire Tuesday evening resulted in $5,000 in damages but no injuries.

The Bath Township Fire Department was alerted to the fire at 1503 Findlay Road, Lot 17, at 6:42 p.m. Firefighters found that the fire was contained to the mobile home’s laundry room, and they were able to quickly extinguish the blaze.

The owner of the mobile home, Nancy Gross, was at home at the time of the fire and was able to escape unharmed after being alerted by smoke alarms.

The cause of the fire was determined to be an electrical issue related to the washer and dryer. Bath Fire Chief Joe Kitchen estimates the damage to the structure to be $2,500, with damages to contents also estimated to be $2,500.

The Lima Fire Department and Perry Township EMS also responded to the fire.
