Curtain Fall

4:30 p.m. Saturday

The Civic Center Foundation will host the Curtain Fall Concert and an Ohio State-Oregon Watch Party when the game starts at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Pangle Pavilion, 128 E. Spring St., Lima.

Anyone can come to this free event to listen to music performed by Exploit and Fleetwood 2 the Max or watch the football game on the venue’s outdoor screen.

There will be food trucks and a cash bar on hard.

Lima Lantern Tours

5:30, 6 and 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday

Downtown Lima, Inc. Lantern Tours will return for its final weekend with ties at 5:30, 6 and 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday throughout the downtown area.

All tours involve walking, but the 6 p.m. tour Friday will include a trolley ride.

Fall Food Truck Fest

10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday

The Fall Food Truck Fest will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Allen County Fairgrounds, 2750 Harding Highway, Lima.

The free event will feature food for purchase and craft vendors.

The outdoor event will go on rain or shine.

Octoberfest at St. Matthews Lutheran

3-6 p.m. Sunday

Octoberfest will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, 5050 St. Matthews Drive, Lima.

The event to celebrate the fall season will feature free food, fellowship, carnival games, prizes, pumpkin craft, music, pony rides and tractor-pulled hayrides.

Anyone can come to the event, which accepts free-will offerings.

Shrek the Musical

6 p.m. Sunday

“Shrek the Musical” will take the stage at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Veterans Memorial Civic Center, 7 Town Square in Lima.

The Broadway adaptation of the DreamWorks animated movie about a heroic Ogre and his sidekick Donkey is recommended for ages six and up and will last two hours with an intermission.

• Lima Land Poetry Slam: 7 p.m. Friday — The Lima Land Poetry Slam will open doors at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11 at Vibe Coffeehouse and Cafe at 311 E. Market St. in Lima.

Anyone can enjoy the poets, rappers, musicians and singers performing and participate by signing up at the event.

• Fall Craft Show: 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday — Shawnee United Methodist Church will hold a fall craft show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 at 2600 Zurmehly Road in Lima.

Admission costs $2 for everyone over the age of 12 at this event featuring vendors.

• Walking Thru Autumn: 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday — The Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District will hold Walking Thru Autumn from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 at Kendrick Woods at 971 N. Defiance Trail in Spencerville.

Anyone can join this free guided hike to explore a metro park trail.
