Putnam County Common Pleas Court

Sept. 30

Gregory A. Preston, 33, Marion Correctional, was sentenced to six to nine years in prison for aggravated trafficking in drugs. He was given credit for 185 days previously served. Another drug count was dismissed. All the evidence in the case is to be destroyed by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department.

Douglas R. Marihugh, 47, Melrose, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of aggravated menacing and using weapons while intoxicated. He faces up to 180 days jail and $1,000 in fines on both counts. Bond was continued while a presentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 10 a.m. Oct. 21. A charge of domestic violence was dismissed.

Benjamin D. Schroeder, Kalida, and Malorie L. Schroeder, Kalida, were granted a dissolution of marriage. They were married March 28, 2015, in Kalida and have one child.

Oct. 1

Ronald L. Runyon, Jr., 47, Van Wert, was sentenced to nine months in jail for obstructing official business and nine months in jail for aggravated possession of drugs. He was given credit for 109 days served and shall be allowed to attend the WORTH Center program if accepted. The sentence was ordered served concurrently and all evidence in the case was ordered to be destroyed.

Oct. 2

Bethany R. Schwertner, Ottawa, and Brad M. Schwertner, Ottawa, were granted a dissolution of marriage. They were married Oct. 8, 2016, and have no minor children.

Jessica Ladd, Lima, and Brian Ladd, Vaughnsville, were granted a dissolution of marriage. They were married Sept. 22, 2007 in Vaughnsville, and have one child.

New Cases

Jody R. Hohenbrink, Pandora, and Gregory M. Hohenbrink; Ottawa, dissolution of marriage with children.

Putnam County Municipal dispositions

Sept. 25

Ryan M. Kimmel, 35, Cloverdale, pleaded guilty to OVI. Sentence: 180 days jail, 174 days suspended, $750 fine, $375 suspended, two-year license suspension, with credit for six days jail upon completion of DIP and complete a drug and alcohol assessment. Charges of OVI with refusal, speeding and driving without a valid license were dismissed.

Sept. 26

Michele L. Loveday, 41, Deshler, charged with drug abuse/possession, a felony, bound over to common pleas court.

Ralf P. Castleman, 64, Vaughnsville, was fined $150 for school bus violation.

Sept. 30

Kristina Griffith, 44, Grand Rapids, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of persistent disorderly conduct. Sentence: 30 days jail, suspended, $100 fine.

Oct. 1

Jerry J. Laubenthal, 64, Ottawa, was fined $100 for disorderly conduct.

Ethan M. Affholder, 20, Lima, was fined $150 for passing a school bus.

Oct. 3

Raul H. Salinas, 56, Holgate, pleaded no contest to an amended charge of criminal mischief. Sentence: 60 days jail, suspended, fined $150.

Adam Scarberry, 35, Ottawa, was fined $150 for school bus violation.

Todd M. Settlemire, 39, Leipsic, was fined $100 for driving without a valid license.

Justin R. Wright, 27, Cloverdale, was fined $100 for an amended charge of no operator’s license. A charge of speeding was dismissed.

Danielle R. Miller, 31, Pandora, pleaded guilty to possession of drugs. Sentence: 180 days jail, 175 days suspended, $100 fine and complete a mental health assessment.

Justin R. Wright, 27, Cloverdale, was fined $100 for an amended offense of no operator’s license.
