LIMA — The Allen County Republican Party announced former chairman Robert “Bob” V. Holmes’ passing Saturday, Sept. 14.
Holmes served as chairman from 1974 to 1994 and was also Ohio Republican Party state central committeeman and treasurer.
The party recognized him for chairing five presidential and vice presidential campaign visits in the county, including the 1980 Ronald Reagan Whistle Stop Rally in Lima.
