Lima man taken into custody after stabbing incident

LIMA — A 68-year-old Lima resident was taken into custody early Wednesday on preliminary charges of suspicion of felonious assault following a stabbing incident that took place around midnight.

According to a statement from the Lima Police Department, officers were dispatched to 936 Dingledine Ave. shortly before midnight Tuesday in reference to a stabbing. An adult male victim was found at that location to be suffering from non-life threatening stab wounds.

Police learned an argument between roommates precipitated the stabbing and determined that Walton Upshaw Jr. had stabbed the victim, who police declined to identify. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
