Here are 10 players to watch during the 2024 high school football season in the Lima area.
MATTHEW QUATMAN

5-10, 175 lbs., SENIOR
Quatman splits time between running back and slot receiver on offense. He caught 32 balls for 590 yards and six touchdowns as an all-state receiver and ran for an additional 690 yards and nine touchdowns on 114 carries in his junior season. On defense, he recorded 64 total tackles and two interceptions.

6-1, 210 lbs., JUNIOR
Falke was a first-team Northwest District and third-team all-state linebacker as a sophomore. He made 113.5 total tackles with 1.5 sacks during his sophomore season. 59 of his tackles were solo and 13 went for a loss.

6-1, 165 lbs., JUNIOR
In his first season as Lima Senior’s starting quarterback, Hall was third-team all-state and the Toledo City Athletic League Player of the Year after throwing for 3,932 yards and 46 touchdowns. He added 357 yards and three touchdowns on the ground as a sophomore.

Hale ran for 1,040 yards and five touchdowns last season on 175 carries. He finished second on the team in total yards and accounted for 66% of Bath’s rushing offense, earning him a spot on the WBL’s second team as a sophomore.

6-1, 190 lbs., SENIOR
Barraza topped 1,900 yards with 21 touchdowns on the ground last year. He was the Northwest Conference Offensive Player of the Year and named first-team all-state in Division VI as a junior.

5-11, 201 lbs., SENIOR
Worcester was an all-state linebacker after recording his third straight season with at least 100 tackles. On offense, he rushed for more than 1,700 yards and 26 touchdowns as a junior.

6-3, 235 lbs., JUNIOR
Crim was a force on Elida’s defense as a sophomore, recording 73 tackles (20 for loss), 10.5 sacks, two forced fumbles with one recovery and two blocked punts. Those numbers earned him a spot on the WBL’s first team.

6-2, 190 lbs., JUNIOR
Moyer passed for 1,812 yards and 14 touchdowns and ran for 464 yards and 10 touchdowns as a sophomore. He was an all-state honorable mention and a member of the WBL’s first team.

Houser committed to the University of Louisville in the offseason. He played an important role as a blocker during his junior year and finished with seven catches for 75 yards, earning a WBL honorable mention on offense.

5-10, 200 lbs., SENIOR
Mabry rushed for 1,456 yards and 19 touchdowns on 221 carries during his junior season out of the Roughriders’ Wing-T offense. He was a WBL first-teamer in 2023 and he’s set to earn his fourth varsity letter this fall.
