LIMA — Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center and Lima Memorial Health System earned top honors for stroke and diabetes care from the American Heart Association.
Both health systems earned the AHA’s gold-plus award and elite honor roll for meeting the highest standards of stroke care.
The AHA recognized St. Rita’s and LMHS for meeting quality standards for Type 2 diabetes as well.
The Lima hospitals are among 11 hospitals in northwest Ohio to earn quality awards from the AHA, which evaluates hospital compliance for stroke, heart failure, resuscitation, atrial fibrillation and coronary heart disease treatment.
